Whaley has selection headache

MARCH Town hope to continue their unbeaten start to the season with a trip to Ipswich Wanderers in Ridgeons Division One on Saturday.

Hares manager Brett Whaley said: “This is a really important game for us to win. The Ipswich side have not started the season well in the league but these are the sort of games in the past we have slipped up in.”

Wanderers lost 5-1 against Team Bury in their opening fixture but bounced back with a win against Newmarket Town in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Whaley should have skipper Luke Pepper, Stu Anderson, and Gav Cooke back after missing Saturday’s cup win but he will be missing Lewis Cook and Ben Hepworth.

Kyle Nolan is expected to start training this week after injury and Dan Jenkins is expected to return too.

“With all the players coming back I think I will have a bit of a headache with team selection but it just shows how much strength in depth we have this season,” added Whaley.

March face Godmanchester next Tuesday at the GER. The two sides met in the league only last week with the Hares coming out on top with a 3-0 win.
