Wisbech Town FC boss Brett Whaley has urged his troops to “make things happen” following three ChromaSport United Counties League Premier Division draws.
Matt Sparrow scored the Fenmen’s stoppage-time equaliser in the 1-1 home draw with Desborough Town on Saturday.
Whaley said: “As much as I’m pleased that we are now unbeaten in three games, we’ve dropped four points. You would have settled for a point against the league leaders, but what wasn’t acceptable is that we were two goals up and at home.
“Against Boston Town we did well to return home with a point after having our goalkeeper sent-off so early.
“On Saturday we looked comfortable, but after they scored a breakaway goal they sat in and, although we had a lot more of the ball, we didn’t use it well enough. We look as though we are worried about making a mistake all over the field. We’ve got to make things happen, rather than wait for things to happen.
“We want to get things right and the squad playing well before our home FA Vase game.
“Hopefully if we can win against Huntingdon (last night) that will give us the momentum to go on a run.”
In the First Round Proper of the FA Vase, Wisbech will host Alvechurch at the Elgood’s Fenland Stadium on Hallowe’en, October 31. On Saturday, Wisbech travel to Northampton ON Chenecks before hosting Sleaford in the league on Tuesday.
