Braintree Res 1,
March Town United 1
The Hares made it three Thurlow Nunn League Division One games unbeaten, again recovering after going behind, to leave them in 16th spot.
The hosts went ahead six minutes after the interval with a Luis Suarez-like 40-yarder that went in off the post but March levelled when David Jackson rode a tackle, for which the Braintree player was later booked, and laid off to Sean White who ran 30 yards before finishing in the far corner of the net.
The Braintree goalkeeper denied Michael Chow with a superb save for a depleted Hares, whose manager Paul Crosbie was the only sub.
Crosbie said: “We’ve got a sense of a team and a squad building. They were disappointed in the dressing-room not to win.
“The lads were excellent and they responded very well. We’re unfortunate not to have picked three points.”
Jack Flintoff should return at Haverhill on Saturday after working, while Jake Ogden (work) misses out. Paul Richardson and Gary White had sickness bugs last Saturday and March will monitor the recovery of Lewis Cook who begins training this week.
Jordan Goult was due to have an operation on his broken nose (sustained last week) on Monday.
March: M Flintoff, Ogden, Mattless, Peacock, Dunlop, Gibbons, Jackson, Chow, Blanchflower, McKenna, S White. Not used: Crosbie.
