Win for Fenmen

Wisbech Town 3, Newmarket 1

THE Fenmen once again had to come from behind to inflict a Red Insure Cup win over the Thurlow Nunn Division One title hopefuls at a foggy Elgood’s Fenland Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Jockeys took the lead as early as the 11th minute through James Lane, but nine minutes before the break it was Dubi Ogbonna’s turn with a free kick and his shot took a deflection off the wall to find the back of the net.

Adam Millson continued his good run of goalscoring by heading Wisbech in front after 64 minutes from a Rogan McGeorge cross. He has now scored in five of the last six games.

Lea Jordan, returning in goal after a four-week break, produced a good save to turn a shot round the post, before Matt Lunn found substitute Toby Ogbonna to make the tie safe for Wisbech six minutes from time with a third goal after replacing his older brother Dubi.
