Two Fenland football sides are shining who are members of the King’s Lynn & District Sunday League (KLSL).
MacMillan FC faced Murrow Bell in the Cambridgeshire Sunday Centenary Cup quarter-finals, unknown territory for a side in their first competitive season.
But MacMillan triumphed 7-1 to proceed to the semi-final, scoring through Lyndon Woods, Ian Bootie, Gary Green, Matt Retchless and a Ryan Alexander hat-trick.
They will face current holders, Long Road Rangers – a side, who in the last seven years, have reached this final six times, and won it three times.
Justin Cross, manager of the Wisbech charity side, says he can’t remember any other Wisbech team reaching the semi-finals before.
Meanwhile, the KLSL Team of the Month is sponsored by Karl Peach Wall & Floor Tiling. Elm won it in November and are presented with their ball by league chairman Nigel Moulton.
