Wisbech Town are very much still in the mix for silverware this season after booking their place in the last four of the Cambs Invitation Cup.

Goals from Adam Millson (36 minutes), Michael Frew (38) and Chris Bacon (90) saw the Fenmen overcome higher-league Soham Town Rangers 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-finals, Wisbech will host Hardwick FC – who sit fourth in the Cambs Kershaw League Premier – on Tuesday, February 16.

After the game, manager Brett Whaley took to Twitter to speak of his delight at the result.

After the 3-1 victory, Whaley said: “Pleased to add some good football to the hard work we showed on Saturday.

“Two good results, now to put things right in the league.”

Unfortunately, Saturday’s schedule United Counties League trip to Desborough was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

On Saturday (December 19), 12th-placed Wisbech are due to be on the road again with a trip to Harrowby United, who are in 14th position in the Premier Division.
