Wisbech Town FC boss Dick Creasey dedicated his ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division manager of the month award to his backroom staff.

The Fenmen claimed the February award on the back of a great run – for example, Saturday saw their tenth victory in a row which ended 5-1 at home to UCL basement side Long Buckby AFC.

Creasey said of the accolade: “It’s not really my cup of tea.

“It’s not about me – it’s about everybody. The players obviously, the backroom staff and coaches. I’ll accept it on behalf of them.

“We have played seven league games and a cup game in the month and got eight straight wins.

“No-one could equal what we did.”

Creasey just wants to keep the run going which has put his troops up to second spot.

Last night (Tuesday) Wisbech travelled to near-neighbours Yaxley for a Premier Division top-three clash and on Saturday they entertain 13th-place Newport Pagnell Town.

Defender Scott Johnson (holiday) misses these two matches, while Luke Wilson took a bad knock on the ankle at the weekend and was due to be assessed by physio Shane Spafford.

Tommy Treacher (work) was a doubt for Yaxley.
