Wisbech Town FC hot shot Harry Limb is to join Premier League side Burnley on an 18-month contract, with an option on a further year.

The striker impressed in a trial last Saturday (Feb 19), starting and scoring in a 4-0 win against Barnsley.

A club statement said: “The 17-year-old will join the Turf Moor outfit immediately and link up with their Development side for a match against Sunderland on Monday.

“In return, Burnley will be sending a team to the Elgood’s Fenland Stadium to play a pre-season friendly in July.

“Harry scored 22 goals in 40 games (28 starts) for the Fenmen, including two hat-tricks.

“Everyone at Wisbech Town FC wishes him all the best and look forward to following his career with great interest.”

Wisbech manager Dick Creasey was unsurprisingly delighted for Limb, adding: “Since joining us at the start of the season, his record speaks for itself but on top of that he’s a great young boy who has felt at home here and everybody must take a certain amount of pride in what he has achieved.

“Burnley were not the only club wanting his signature and there were a few other league clubs ready to offer him a contract but Harry chose Burnley.”
