EXCLUSIVE: CHATTERIS Town caretaker-manager Julian Young has turned down the chance to take charge at West Street again next season.

The surprise decision was announced after he had enjoyed his best win since taking charge three months ago with a 2-1 win against Fulbourn on Saturday.

Young said: “As much as I would like to continue as manager I just do not have the time to commit for a full season. It is a great pity but it is just not the right time for me at the moment.

“I already run Chatteris Tigers under 16 team and will be taking them to under 18 level next season as they progress to men’s football. I will still stay involved with the club.

“I have really enjoyed my time in charge of the first team and am delighted that we have managed to steer clear of relegation.”
