FUNDING is available to help organisations provide sporting opportunities for young people in Cambridgeshire.
Over £90,000 is available from Living Sport, which is currently accepting applications from organisations wishing to run six-week long projects from July 2012 to March 2013.
The deadline for applications to be received is Thursday, May 31, 2012.
Ross Hayward, Living Sport’s lead officer on Sportivate, said: “This programme can provide funding support that covers a number of different aspects to delivering sporting and physical activity sessions, including coaching cost, equipment purchase and venue hire.
“Sportivate can help sport clubs to grow and build their membership levels with new accessible sessions aimed at 14-25 year olds.”
Sportivate provides a great opportunity for organisations such as National Governing Bodies of Sport, community clubs, leisure centres, local authorities, schools, youth groups and more to make a difference to young people’s lives across the county.
It offers the required funding for organisations that wish to organise and deliver the coaching sessions of any sport they desire.
Sportivate starts with participants accessing and completing a six week course of high quality coaching sessions. At the end of the coaching sessions they will be supported into a local club or alternative sports provision to continue their participation.
