Meanwhile, Wisbech Round Table chairman Sam Smith was pleased to present a cheque of £500 to help towards providing the town’s Cricket Week.
Smith said that being able to support events such as this, for local children to try a sport, is only possible thanks to the kind support of local people at events such as the Rose Fair.
Shane Sleath, WTCC youth development manager, said that the various activities that happened during the week helped young people develop both as cricketers, and as people: “Without the kind donations from organisations such as the Round Table we just wouldn’t have been able to put this event on.”
