Bradley Perrett took six wickets as Wisbech Town CC lengthened their lead at the top of the Cambs Tucker League with a 61-run win at Sawston on Saturday.

The teams on their heels Foxton and Ramsey could only draw with each other, so Wisbech are on 324 points, Foxton 296, Ramsey 294, Godmanchester 292 and March 248.

Wisbech finished on 203-9 declared, openers Gary Freear 48 and captain Alan Burton 29 putting on 70. James Williams top scored with 60.

Kiwi Perrett - who enjoyed a productive weekend with 11 wickets - then produced figures of 8-2-30-6 as Sawston were dismissed for 142 in 37.3 overs (Craig Johnson 3-21 and Jack Hastings 1-19).

Burton said: “They put on 50 for the final wicket so their score was not really a true reflection of how it went.

“They were out of the game pretty early on as they lost wickets.

“Johnno took a wicket in his second and fourth overs, while Brad Perrett took a wicket in his second, fourth and fifth overs.”

Next weekend in a crunch match at home to second place Foxton, Jack Hastings is unavailable. Burton is unsure about the unavailability of Sam Rippington.

Burton said: “We’ll probably go with Kieran Haynes and ‘AN Other’ if Sam can’t play.”
