March lost their Ernie Wool Trophy match by 27 runs against Ramsey at The Avenue on Sunday.

After being put into bat the visitors struggled against some tight bowling by Sam Mason, who took 2-14 in his eight overs.

Ramsey tottered at 76/7 after 22 overs before partnerships of 69 and 43 saw their score transformed to 200/8.

March batted without skipper Stephen Wallis, who took a blow to his knee fielding, openers Curtis Oldroyd (18) and Ashley Impey (19) adding 41 for the first wicket before they were both out on that score.

The rest of the batting relied heavily on middle order batsman Ioan Foreman, who struck a quick fire 27 (four 4’s) and Mason (20), who scored his maiden half century for the club. He hit seven boundaries, including one maximum, in his 59.
