Stepping up to acting captain for the first time, Chatteris St Peter’s Tennis Club’s youngest male matchplay player Sam Perry, 17, recorded a win in the match between Chatteris Men and Red Lodge 3 held on Friday at Chatteris.

The match was in the Cambridgeshire Tennis League Division 11, that Chatteris has entered for the first time. Playing with Andrew Fox, Sam won all four sets they played in. The second pairing of Gary Cook/Ash Ellarby, both new players this year, won a further set to secure a 5-3 victory for Chatteris.

Playing away to Longthorpe C, Chatteris St Peter’s Tennis Club Mixed A team were also recently on court, having a closely fought match resulting in a 4-4 draw.

The Chatteris pairings were Simon Grainger/Alison Edge, and Sam Perry/Emma Norman.
