March Town 3 Haverhill 1

With the ladies looking for their first win, they started strongly and created plenty of chances.

Louise Minnis struck the ball up the pitch, which Hana Howsam met, beating the keeper. Haverhill broke through and were awarded a short corner, which they scored from.

After half-time, play was fairly equal. March managed to push through with ten minutes left when Rebecca White scored two goals in quick succession.

Player of the match was Carly Stevenson.

Next weekend March play away at Bourne Deeping.

At home, March are becoming a threat.

An early short corner was coolly slotted away from Ben Wright. Staying on top James Fisher was in the right place as the right time. Another short corner was nonchalantly finished by David Haslegrave.

The counter attacking prowess of March continued with Wright grabbing another from a short corner flicked to the roof of the net.

The home side started sluggishly in the second half allowing Stortford to grab three cheap goals. David Hodson and Ash Welland creating an opening for Haslegrave to slide in and grab his second.
