Wisbech II 32

Wisbech bagged their first win of the season at a young university side.

Wisbech had three set of brothers playing: Josh and Sam Anderson, Ali and James Comben and Steven and Darren Priest.

Bottom of the league Canvey Island called off Saturday’s game at Wisbech 1st XV, citing illness and injury.

Wisbech were awarded four league points, but fancied a try bonus point, club manager Cliff Humphreys adding: “It is particularly annoying as the teams we are chasing have already played Canvey and have secured extra points.”

Wisbech are away to Harlow on Saturday.

Wisbech Under 10s hosted West Norfolk. Aiden Cook, Charlie Riddington and Tom Hamilton alternated the captain’s armband, coming away with 5-2, 3-3 and 4-3 results.

Wisbech U9 produced some great tackling and passing against Market Deeping and West Norfolk at home.
