Former Wisbech Swimming Club member Belinda Castree has won her first sprint triathlon in Bermuda, consisting of a 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in a time of one hour and twelve minutes finishing 10th overall (men and women) out of 85 competitors.
Belinda started triathlon two years ago, she was asked to join a bike team and is now sponsored by them and others. In September she competed in The World ITU triathlon championships in London after qualifying in an Olympic triathlon on the island. Belinda came 67th out of 107 athletes, however, she had the 9th fastest swim and 45th fastest bike ride over the 750m swim, 40km bike and 10km run.
