Wisbech Roller Speed Skating Club prepared well for the British Inline Roller Speed Skating Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Tatem Park, Enfield, North London.

Their performances at last weekend’s race meeting gave a taste of who might be bringing home championship trophies and medals.

Eve McInerney claimed fifth place in both her Category 5 races at the Birmingham Wheels Race Track, but stormed to third place in her Girls 10-12 age group race. The club is looking forward to a podium position from Eve at next weekend’s championships.

Michael McInerney in his Category 1 races came third in the 1500m and second in the 3000m, and also finished second in the Men’s 16+ age group race.

Finally, Joe Adam Hardy was on top form coming second in both his Category 2 races, but won his age group race so Wisbech are anticipating Joe will be crowned British Junior Champion next weekend.
