Cambridgeshire Short Mat Bowls Association (pictured) journeyed up to Harrogate to play the Yorkshire White Roses.
They played for the challenge shield on the Saturday at Scotton. The team unfortunately lost on some very difficult mats.
On the Sunday the players and guests went to Great Ouesburn (York side of the A1) where all the players drew for playing positions and mats from a “bag” for a “fours” drive, with leads as skips and skips as leads. Again Cambs didn’t feature in results, but had some good scores. Thanks go to all the Yorkshire players for their hospitality and Derek Beardsley for organising the weekend. The White Roses will visit next year.
