LSHC Ladies 2nd 3

Alford 2nds 2

Alford went 2-0 up, despite some spectacular saves by Wallis.

Some tactical changes made during half-time instantly paid off for Sutton, and efforts from all the midfielders saw Lisa Baker strike Long Sutton’s first goal of the game. Sutton started to dominate the game, with Amber Jones notching twice, Issy Ellis setting up the winner.

Next weekend: away to Spilsby Ladies.

Spalding 4ths 1

In the rearranged local derby, Ian White successfully completed a short corner through the goalkeeper’s legs. However the away side counter-attacked and levelled by half-time. After an inspiring team talk, Sutton goals started flowing, with Hales getting the first and Hales and Sisson feeding the ball to Proctor time and time again. It gives Sutton a seven-point gap from the bottom.

Sutton’s development side, including five 13-year-olds, came away with a fantastic result.

Sutton opened the scoring through a well-worked long corner: Clarke to Synnott who found Jon Goodley in the D, who turned his defender and placed his shot into the far corner. After the break Horncastle started to show why they’re top and levelled with two minutes left.

MoM: Clarke.
