There were two charity fund raising events held at CMB Bowls Club at Railway Road, Wisbech, at the weekend.

North Cambs presidents Linda Stanton and Eric Clarke held a charity day “pretty in pink” in aid of Lincoln Breast Care Macmillan support group and raised a grand total of £855.

Around 75 people attended from local clubs and surrounding counties including Northants, Lincolnshire and Norfolk and one bowler even travelled from Worcester.

During the day events included a bowls drive, target bowls, a massive raffle where all prizes were donated by local businesses and bowlers and an “ice bucket challenge” by Cliff Watson and Linda Stanton.

CMB bowls club held their 14th annual Les Howard memorial trophy game at the Railway Road green in aid of the local Hudson Palliative Care and raised £600 which will be presented at a later date.

Some 24 pairs of bowlers played all day.

Winners were Danny Stanton and Steve 
Engledow with runners-up Barbara Joyce and Alan Wright.
