Undefeated Chatteris boxer Jordan Gill won his 14th pro fight on Saturday at Derby Arena.
The build-up for this event started weeks ago; Jordan has been training at the Ingle Gym in Sheffield as well as doing extra strength and conditioning sessions with Boxing Science at Hallum University.
He has also invested in a top nutritionist from Nourish, Sheffield, who advises him on how to fuel his body effectively in order to enhance his training, performance and recovery.
Leading up to fight night supporters had been sending Gill messages and pictures, with fans wearing Jordan Gill T-shirts at Chatteris New Vision Gym, outside Sarah’s Hairdressers with the Chatteris Town Butcher and a C&G Coach-load of supporters arriving at the venue.
Gill stated: “The support has been overwhelming, I love the enthusiasm and excitement of the fans, it gets me fired up and eager to put on a good show.”
Gill boxed George Gachechiladze from Georgia who is ranked number one in his country and known for knocking out his opponents.
But Gill dominated the fight, his technical skill, speed, accuracy and stamina proved overpowering to the Georgian boxer; and won all six rounds convincingly.
He added: “He was a tough opponent; my hands are so bruised so his head must be too, I have now won all 14 of my professional fights; the English title is next. I’d love to see the arena full of my supporters from Fenland and beyond.”
The last two rounds of the fight were televised on Spike TV; this can be watched on Channel 5 on demand.
Next up for Gill is an English title shot. The British Boxing Board of Control have ordered him to fight Jamie Speight, the Southern Area Champion for this belt. The date and venue is yet to be set but it will be this year.
