Chatteris Kingfishers were at the 50m pool in Corby for the 800 and 1500m long course races in the county development championships and in their own sprint club championships at Ely.

Megan Dawson (12), Hallie White (10) and Chloe Cook (9) swam in the 800m front crawl, each swimming a personal best time.

Megan and Chloe swimming a club record in their age group.

The boys had to swim 1500m, with Liam Hill (13), Jake Hoy (13) and Tyler Thomas (12) all swimming PB times, with Tyler setting a new club record in his age group.

This weekend the swimmers battled amongst themselves in the 50m sprints (all four strokes) and 100m individual medley, with Chloe Stanley (8), Thea Hanley (8), Molly Noble (10) and Megan Morrissey (11) competing for the first time. Between them, the 36 swimmers managed 65 PB times.

Cleo Bailey (9) swam PBs in all five of her races, with Amy Cooper (10), and Abbie Stocker (10) each clocking four PBs and Naomi Lambert Di Marco (11) and Kaia Richards (10) three.

For the boys, Hayden Wearing (9) set four PBs, Liam Hill (13) and Finley Harper (12) three. Freddie Allen was the runaway winner for the 9-year old boys, winning all five races. The other winners still need to be worked out.

This weekend many will be competing in the County Development Championships, on Saturday in Peterborough and on the Sunday in Cambridge.
