As the cycling season draws to a close, riders make a last effort to nail down good times and the Wisbech club’s lady vet Denese Hallahan did just that in the Yorkshire Velo open ‘10’ on Sunday.
Her time of 25.59 was her best-ever. The day before in the Pedal Revolution promotion Becky Taylor once again exceeded the 25mph average with 23.56 and Denese rounded the course in 27.47.
On Tuesday evening in the last counting ride of the Wisbech series the stiff breeze added time to most riders’ results.
Vet Paul Ashby was first in 21.38 followed by Mike MacInerney with 22.58 and a strong ride by Stuart Emmett brought him in only seven seconds later with 23.05.
