Ferry good runs for new PBs

IF the previous week was busy for Fenland Running Club members, it must have seemed like a stroll in Wisbech Park compared with the latest programme.

A total of 17 FRC runners competed in the 3rd Peterborough Grand Prix 5K race hosted by Thorney Running Club at Ferry Meadows on Wednesday; 17 competed in the Ryston Runners Bob Hancock Mid-Summer 5-mile race the following day; two ran in the City of Norwich AC Lord Mayor’s 5K Classic on Saturday and seven ran the Bushfield Joggers 10K race at Bushfields Peterborough on Sunday.

At Ferry Meadows in good evening conditions, in a field of 275 finishers, six of the 17 finished within the 20 minute landmark time, and several FRC runners achieved new PBs.

At the Bushfield Joggers 10K Bushy 10K in Peterborough, with under- and over-passes, it’s mainly a road/path course.
