Fishing PBs galore

The Chatteris Kingfishers youth team took part in the second round of the Peterborough mini-meet on Saturday where the girls swam 200m frontcrawl, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke and the boys competed in the 200m I.M., 50m front crawl and 50m breaststroke against Huntingdon, March, Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell and Peterborough.

They all swam very well, with all but two of the races swam in personal best times.

In the 9-year old girls were Maddison Pauley, Jessica Emmons, Melissa Abblett, Amy Cooper and Kaia Richards, with Maddison finishing top Chatteris swimmer, in 12th place, in 50m butterfly and Jessica beating the others to 12th place in the 50m backstroke.

The 10-year old girls were represented by Georgia Parnell, Hallie White, Maisie Harper and Kiara Kovacs. The first three each won one of their races over the other. White came 4th in 50m butterfly, Harper 10th in 200m front crawl and Parnell 12th in the 50m breaststroke, all in PBs. Kiara swam PBs in her 50m races.

Thomas Hanley (10-year old) did very well, finishing 3rd in both breaststroke and front crawl and 4th in 200m I.M., all in p.b.’s.

Megan Dawson (11-year old) finishing in 13th in both 50 fly and backstroke with good PBs and 14th in her first-ever 200m front crawl.

Zak White (11-year old) bagged 8th, 10th and 12th in 50m front crawl, 200m I.M. and 50m breaststroke respectively (PBs) with Daniel Allen also gaining three and Euan Sizer two.

Liam Hill, Finley Harper and Tyler Thomas (12 year old) swam PBs in all three races. Tyler finished second in all three, with Finley close behind, finishing in third in the 50m breaststroke and 4th in both 200m I.M. and 50m front crawl.
