Five North Cambs ladies off to national bowls finals

Five ladies from North Cambs Ladies Bowls Club are through to the National Finals at Newark in April.

They are – 4 Wood Singles: Betty Reeve, 4 Wood Senior Singles: June Warren, Pairs: Lyn Clare and Wendy Featherstone, Triples: Clare, Featherstone and Jackie Hearle

Playing in a Short Mat Bowls competition of over100 pairs at the Potters Leisure Resort Hopton-on-Sea last week the pair of Maureen & Lonnie Fyson (Sutton St James) were competition winners. Two other pairs Avis & Tony Norris ( Wisbech St Mary) and Marian Taylor (Sutton St James) and Tony Hart ( March B.R.A.Z.A.) got to the Quarter Finals.

Division 1: B.R.A.Z.A. Jupiter played 11-points 68; G.E.R; Robins 10-64; Sutton St Edmund Sinners 10-60; Doddington Tornadoes 8-59; Holme 8-42; Fen Drayton Lions 9-41; Tydd St Giles Falcons 6-38.

Division 2: Walpole Highway Highwaymen played 11-points 80; Gorefield Wolf’s 10-67; Sutton St James Nomads 9-55; Emneth Extras 8-54; Doddington Victors 9-46; Tydd St Giles Eagles 6-36; Fen Drayton Tigers 7-22.
