Wisbech 29 Newmarket 3

The game was won by half-time as Wisbech ran in four tries to seal a valuable bonus point to keep the pressure on Ely and Wymondham.

Wisbech drafted in veterans Peter Lankfer into the front row, Jon Turner at centre and winger James Patrick. The latter two scored tries.

Sam Anderson also scored and Jack Malkin added conversions. Skipper Solomon Prestidge left the pitch with a dead leg.

MoM: James Griffin.

The next game is at Norwich Crusaders on April 2. A victory would set up the home fixture against Wymondham as a battle to determine at least second spot.
