Louise Fox successfully defended her world powerlifting title in Glasgow at the weekend with an awesome display to complete an unprecedented hat-trick of titles.
The former March-born 37-year-old said: “Winning my third Powerlifting title is such a huge thrill that everything else is a bonus even if I did not break any records.
“I still achieved a combined weight of 332.5 kg which I cannot be too disappointed with, especially as I was about two kilograms lighter than I normally would be.”
But despite being a multiple world champion and world record holder, Fox, now based in Peterborough, is still driven on to achieve even more in her sport.
Although she holds the record for highest combined lift and the best deadlift and the squat lift, Fox also hopes to add the bench press record to her collection next year.
She said: “Whether or not I can do it remains to be seen but there is still plenty for me to aim at. I have the British Championships in the spring and then the World Single Lift Championships. So I will be training hard with the help of my sponsors York Fitness to make sure I am in the best possible shape for another great year.”
