LSHC Men 8, Crostyx 1
Long Sutton were in fine form on Saturday in Prem B.
Crostyx could only manage to field 10 players and Sutton kept the ball well, moving it from side to side with some slick, quick passing.
It was no surprise when Sutton opened their account through goal machine Danny Sisson. Fyson notched his first and midfield dynamo Hardy smashed home on his reverse. Sutton went into the break 3-1 up.
In the second half there was to be no complacency as Sutton dominated. Fyson fired in a trademark drag flick, Sisson added his second, Fyson completed his hat-trick, and Will Cook added a lovely solo goal before Fyson completed the onslaught.
Cambridge South 5, LSHC Mens’ Second 0
Sutton had an uncharacteristic, lacklustre performance, combined with two players playing injured and two recovering from illness resulted in a 3-0 deficit at the break.
LSHC Mens’ 4th 1,
Alford 2nds 2
A narrow defeat, but a sterling performance by Sutton’s Fourths. Gary Hales drilled a short corner into the goal to reduce the deficit.
LSHC Ladies 1,
City of Peterboro’ 2nds 4
Sutton only played at anything like their potential in the first seven and the last seven minutes.
Forced into changes with first choice goalkeeper Lorraine Wallis and play maker Sarah Walker out would be a poor excuse, although of course replacing such experience is very difficult.
Peterborough put away two in each half before Sutton finally scored a late consolation via Leanne Woodhead.
Player of the match for Long Sutton was Charlie Leuty who worked tirelessly and productively throughout.
