The TT Cycling season is finishing but the hill climbs are in full swing and the King’s Lynn event at Flitcham, which is a mile long and almost flat at the start and builds up to a savage kick near the finish, was well attended by Wisbech riders.
The youngest on the course were 13-year-olds Eve MacInerney and Warren Eve. At the other end of the scale was Mat Webster, now at Loughborough University, second overall, and in third place was Wisbech junior Tiago Fougo with an impressive 2.48.51.
The Wisbech Wheelers competition is run alongside this event and first was veteran Andrew Ward in 3.03.17, followed by fellow vet Richard Eve and first-timer Adrian Churchill.
Local track specialist and vet, Ken Roesner, travelled down to the Newport Velodrome in Wales for the LRVC National Track Championships and took overall Gold in the ‘D’ category (55-60) with first place in the Points Race and finishing among the leaders in several disciplines.
