March Men 8, St Neots 1

March came flying out of the blocks and were in total control of the game from start to finish.

Ryan Wright sent an aerial ball over the top to Stuart Mills who then crossed into the path of Ben Wright who finished from the top of the ‘D’.

Wright got his and March’s second when he deflected into the net.

The returning Jody Betts scored the third after good build up play between Andrew Wright and David Haslegrave.

Ben Wright and Betts completed their hat-tricks by the break.

It was more of the same in the second half and two more quick goals from Betts took his season’s tally to 36 goals.

St Neots scored a consolation goal from a short corner .

Ben Wright was named man of the match.

Next weekend March travel to bottom of the league side Cambridge South Seconds.

March Ladies 7, Ely 3s 0.

March Ladies continued their unbeaten run on Saturday and within minutes Rachel Mottram passed in the D to Louise Minnis who scored.

Not long after Minnis got a second goal after a great run from the halfway line from Libby Wallis. Wallis scored in the top corner to end the first half at 3-0.

March continued to fight for the ball in the second half.

Louise Minnis was able to quickly tap the ball past the goalie for another strike.

A short corner gave Mottram a strike from the top of the D. March now had a switch with positions and defence swapped with attack.

March were doing some great passing up the wings and some great passing saw Charlotte Norman pass the ball to Maria Shackloth who slotted it into the goal.

There was time for Shackloth to complete her brace.

Player of the match: Georgia White.
