Wisbech Grammar School’s Magdalene House have beaten top sides to take a prestigious rugby trophy at a tournament in North Yorkshire.

Facing strong teams from Yorkshire, Lancashire and Scotland in the Lewis Booth Memorial Sevens at Malsis School, the under 11 side defeated Ampleforth 48-0, Cargilfield, Edinburgh, 19-7 and St Mary’s Hall, Stonyhurst College, 15-10 in the final to capture the Lewis Booth U11 trophy.

The U13 side also reached the final, going down 15-14 against St Mary’s Hall.

Director of sport Phillip Webb said: “The boys played outstandingly against some top quality opposition.”
