Sutton Bridge Bowls Club have received a grant of £1,800 from Sutton Bridge Power Fund Charity (SBPF).

The grant was awarded to enable them to purchase a triple roller to add to their bowling green maintenance equipment.

Secretary and treasurer Ray Ward thanked the Fund for the grant, and said: “It would be a great asset to the ongoing maintenance of our excellent bowls green.”

SBPF said it was pleased to have given the grant, as the club provides a great facility for both young and old in the area.

Grants are available for all clubs and organisations in the Power Fund area which covers Sutton Bridge, Walpole Cross Keys, Walpole St Andrew and Tydd St Mary. After receiving a grant, a maximum of £2,000 can be applied for again after two years. SBPF charity was set up in 1999 when the power station at Sutton Bridge was first commissioned, and has awarded grants of many thousands of pounds to organisations and clubs within the area.

It invites any clubs to apply; application forms are available from Perrie on 01406 353004.
