Gymnasts shine in grades competition

Fourteen Fenland gymnasts sparkled at Huntingdon in the recent Cambridgeshire County Grades Competition.

In the age 8/9 years category Maisie Macdonald and Leona Ryan were just outside the top ten in a very strong field of 30. Paige Markham secured first on bars with 11.95, 4th on range (11.50) and vault (12.35).

In the 10-plus grade 14 Simona Lucka top scored on vault to finish 4th in a clean sweep for Fenland. Izzy Gowler picked up the bronze medal, Jaime Avis silver and the worthy winner was Jodie Everitt who gained a distinction (56.90) and the best floor score of 11.75.

Grade 15 (aged 6/7 years): Erin Clark was 5th with 51.90 just outside the medals with Annie Wake scooping silver (53.05). They make their debuts at National Finals later in the year.

Grade 13 (9/10 year): Erin Pattinson got a 48.85 and Maddie Goode narrowly missed a podium place with 55.55.

Khiaeasa Dilley at grade 11 secured a credible 5th position. Georgia Dilley and Tieghan Bywater competed in the 10/11 and 12+ age groups respectively and stormed to victory.
