Long Sutton shooter Aaron Heading was happy with his Commonwealth Games silver medal after losing his title on Tuesday.

Heading (27) finished joint first with Australian Michael Diamond after the second qualifying stage of the men’s trap in Glasgow, scoring 72 points out of a possible 75.

Another Aussie, Adam Vella, pipped the local ace to the gold medal by winning 11-9 in the final in Carnoustie.

Marksman Heading said: “I’m relieved that I’ve got a medal.”
