WITH temperatures soaring to 28 degrees on Sunday, seven members of March AC took part in the Grunty Fen Half marathon at Witchford.

With 800 entrants in the race and all runners clocking slower than their average times due to the heat, first home for the club was Debra Wait with a time of 1 hour 37 minutes and 5 seconds placing her 87th overall and 3rd Vet 45.

Jordan Lancaster completed the race being his first half marathon with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes and 19 seconds.

Karen Patterson was 2nd Vet 40 with Pat Brown coming home to secure 3rd Vet 70. Also, well done to the March club members who manned the water station at mile 9.

* Fenland Running Club will be taking part in the Birkett’s Round Norfolk Relay again this weekend, a 197-mile route in 17 Stages around the perimeter of Norfolk. The club will enter two teams this year, one of which will be all female.
