Fenland Barbarians (Wisbech and Spalding under 13s) enjoyed a 24-7 win at home on Sunday against Southwell in the NLD league.

Rucking was much improved over previous games and there were some excellent tackles from the backs.

Tries: Alex Jackson, Archie Lyall, Harry Smith, Cameron Finlay. Conversions: Ben Fouracre two.

Head coach Alex Wilcox said: “A solid performance by the lads, they have started to hold their own in this challenging league.”

Despite a cold start, Wisbech under 10s triumphed at Boston with some excellent team play. George Kerr scored the opening try, followed by two from Will Easton and a fourth from William Paul in a 4-1 win.

Other scores and tries: 3-1 (Easton, Paul, Josh Bell); 5-0 (Easton, Bell 2, Sam Dickerson and Player of the Week James Wright).

Wisbech U9s lost just one game out of six at Boston (8-3, 6-2, 5-3, 2-3, 6-5, 6-3). Good teamwork was shown by all players.
