JORDAN Gill’s second professional boxing bout, which would have taken place on Saturday, September 29, has been postponed for safety reasons.
The Chatteris 18-year-old would have fought at the Peterborough Showground but this venue has been closed by police after three men were shot at a travellers’ site in Peterborough on Monday.
The fight has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 13 and moved to the Bluewater Centre in Kent. Those people who have already bought tickets will still have them eligible for the new date, or they have the choice of a refund.
On the bill will be 2008 Olympic gold medallist James DeGale, who is defending his European super-middleweight title; Kid Galahad, who is defending his WBC international title; and Chris Eubank junior.
“The event is on a Channel 5 show, but I don’t think Jordan’s fight will be televised,” said Jordan’s father Paul Gill.
Gill has had two weeks’ high altitude training in Fuerteventura with the rest of the Brendan Ingle camp which includes top fighters Kid Galahad and Kell Brook.
Coach seats will be not more than £15 each. For tickets and more information, please contact Paul or Amy Gill on 01354-695211.
