Ladies discover their goal touch

Watton 0,

Wisbech Ladies 1st 5

Wisbech bounced back to top form with a convincing victory after two successive defeats in Division One.

The weather was not in anyone’s favour with rain, hail, thunder and gale force wind making an appearance throughout the game, adding to the pressure for both teams.

Despite a bright start from Watton, Wisbech found themselves 1-0 up early on in the first half with a goal from Claire Apted.

They continued battling throughout the first half and despite chances from Watton, Wisbech went into the break on top.

After realising that one goal probably was not going to be enough, Wisbech stepped it up another gear. Watton mirrored their first half efforts in the second half with chances but fortunately could not convert them.

However Wisbech were in fine form in front of goal. Four more goals flowed Wisbech’s way in this half with Lisa Williamson adding a goal to her tally and Georgie Dunn bagging herself a hat-trick!

It was very well deserved win and player of the match was shared between Apted and Dunn.

Wisbech are home to Ipswich II this Saturday at 1pm.
