Wisbech Ladies 1,

Norwich Dragons 1

Wisbech hosted the league leaders on Saturday in a competitive match which did not disappoint.

In end to end play Norwich took the early lead when they caught Wisbech on the break. Wisbech after the break came out much the dominant team. After a great build up and attacking play Lisa Williamson netted.

Players of the match were Claire Apted and Jane Peggs. Wisbech host Lowestoft at 1pm on Saturday.

Wisbech 1, Bedford 5

A much improved performance from Wisbech was all in vain when a five-minute lapse in concentration before half-time saw Bedford score three times.

The hosts started by far the better of the two sides, but they were sucker punched midway through the first half when Bedford scored a short corner against the run of play. Wisbech then equalised deservedly when Sam Markillie slid in at the far post to deflect home a short corner.

Bedford grabbed a fifth goal on the counter attack, but Wisbech can take a lot of positives from the game this week.

Next weekend they host Blueharts, push back is 2.30pm at Harecroft Road.

Cambridge City 4th 6,

Wisbech 3rd 0

Wisbech had another lesson in how to play by one of the top sides in East Hockey Mens Division 3 North West.

Next weekend v St Neots 1sts (a), 1.30pm start.

Wisbech 4th 2,

Cambridge City Vets 3

Wisbech expected a hard match against top of the league Cambs, with the opposition not conceding a goal all last season and currently having scored 27 goals in four matches.

Chris Stanhope and Jon Boyall scored. MoM: keeper Wom Garner, while youngster Will Green had a great game.
