Wisbech Ladies 1st 2,

Lowestoft Ladies 1st 2

Wisbech carved out a very good draw against a useful Lowestoft team on Saturday.

Lowestoft took the lead after a goalmouth scramble. However Wisbech did not give up and after an inspired run by Natalie Ward, she crossed the ball in to Georgie Dunn who calmly slotted the ball home.

Wisbech started the second half with a strong determination, but it was Lowestoft who once again took the lead after the umpire deemed a ball had crossed the line after a goalmouth clearance.

Never a team to give up, Wisbech once again equalised after Verity Allen found a ball through to Lisa Williamson in the Lowestoft half. She then ran the length of the rest of the pitch, beating the defenders and then sweeping the ball over the top of the goalkeeper.

With minutes to go, Wisbech went inches away from clinching the winner.

Long Sutton 1st 3,

Crostyx 1st 5

Crostyx took a 3-0 lead before Nick Ellis pulled a goal back for Sutton before the half-time break.

Sutton started the second half much better and, when Crostyx were reduced to 10 men, Gary Hales made it 3-2 and then set up a third Sutton goal for Sisson.

Crostyx regained the lead with a penalty strike and added a fifth soon after, but really Sutton deserved a share of the points.
