MARCH boxer Vicky Larham finally got her chance in the ring and did not disappoint with a unanimous points victory at Chadwell St.Mary ABC Open Show at the weekend.
The 25-year-old joined the ranks at March Boxing Club in September and had hoped to make her debut at the club’s show in December but her opponent pulled out on the night.
Her chance finally came against Myra Brennan of St Peters ABC and she was determined to make the most of it coming out very strong in the first round. She soon started to catch her opponent with head and body shots.
In the second round Vicky put more pressure on Brennan and in the end referee gave her a standing count of eight. Both girls were getting tired in the third round but Vicky battled on and won on a unanimous points.
Coach Bernie Wing said: “Vicky has had to be patient but I am pleased she got her chance and took it very well.”
