Wisbech 0pts,

Lowestoft & Yarmouth 73pts

Wisbech Rugby Club really conceded this Senior Vase tie even before the game started when they decided to field a much weakened team to rest players for their final two league games.

In the end the Wisbech line-up very much resembled their second team and proved no match for a Lowestoft team who are bidding for promotion at the top of the table.

Skipper Tom Long commented: ”We must concentrate on staying up and taking as many points as possible from our last two games of the season.

“We have players carrying knocks having turned out for eight or nine games in a row and we needed to rest them.

“Campion won at the weekend to go above us in the table and so we need to get some points.”

Wisbech have to play Lowestoft again in the league but first up are Norwich at Harecroft Road this Saturday.
