Long Sutton’s keeper Cliff shines in a clash against the league leaders

Ramgarhia 3, Long Sutton 1

Sutton started the brighter at the league leaders on Sunday and opened the scoring with a well worked goal down the right, as a fine ball from Ellis found Hales who smashed home.

A Fyson drag-flick was expertly saved from the outstanding Ramgarhia keeper. Ramgarhia went into half time 2-1 up and struggled to break the Sutton defence. Sutton’s man of the match keeper, Cliff, kept them in the game. He pulled off a fantastic flick save only to have it retaken as he was judged to have moved before the flick had been taken. Ramgarhia added a third from the retake however Cliff saved another flick.

Sutton’s young squad added to their run of impressive victories.

Alford took the lead from a penalty flick. Matt Grange scored a fine solo finish to level the scores with 10 minutes left. With two minutes left Alex Canham scored from an Ed White taken short corner. MoM: Sam Gray.

Sutton’s youngsters came out on top in this good-natured derbys.
