March darts team GER Souls sweat on qualifiers

Holders GER Souls will have to beat Group A winners GER B on Friday and then hope that other results go their way to qualify for the last eight of the March Friday Night Summer Darts League.

GER B were confirmed as group winners after inflicting the first league defeat of the season on Cassanos. They won the fixture 8-4. Leon Womack top scored for GER B with 13 ton plusses; Roy Wojtowych included a maximum 180 in 10 ton plusses and had a very impressive 10 dart 401 double in leg and Brian Jones included a maximum 180 in 8 ton plusses and took the singles scalp of Eddie martin twice during the game. Eddie hit 13 tons for Cassanos and team mate Shaun Wright hit a maximum 180.

GER Souls won 7-5 against Top Flight. Paul Wenn top scored with 10 ton plusses and Debbie Melton and Juliet Findley hit seven a piece with Juliet including a 152 away in her total. Andy Smith hit a maximum 180 in seven tons for the USC side.

There was an amazing game in Group B, with One Vision all but securing top spot in the group with a 7-5 win over Sweeney Todd. The game saw a superb 89 ton plusses. Andy Elmore won the last singles game 2-1 over Shirley Carrett to clinch the win. Andy hit a very impressive 17 ton plusses; Dave Pinder hit 14 tons and Jamie Long 11 ton plusses for USC.

GER Posh Canaries secured their quarter final place with a 9-3 win at the Crown. Darryl Martin recorded 11 ton plusses; Robert Doncaster hit 10 tons and Andy Findley included a maximum 180 in 9 ton plusses for the GER side. Jon Porter and Chris Hodgson hit 9 tons a piece for the Outwell side.

Sportsman B won 7-5 at In The Buff. They led the game 6-1, but had to wait until Bob Avenell’s last singles game to secure the win. Bob recorded 8 tons and Dan Beaney included a maximum 180 in 7 tons for the Chatteris side. Simon Neville top scored for the Buffs with 6 tons.

In Group C, both GER M & M’s and GER Men could still qualify for the quarter finals. GER M & M’s are in second place in the group following their 10-2 win over the Ladybirds. Liam Moore, Glenn Moore and Clint mason all hit seven tons a piece for the GER side. Kim Setchfield had a good night for the USC side, hitting 8 ton plusses.

GER Men won 9-3 at the Three Tuns. Top scorers in the game were both Three Tuns players, with Jason Avory and Brian Pearson hitting 7 tons a piece. John Marney hit six ton plusses for the GER side.

Group winners, GER Slickers lost their first game of the campaign, as because of illness they were only able to field three players against the Young Ones. The USC side won 8-4 with Michael Garner hitting 6 tons. Tim Fulcher included a 116 finish in 12 tons for the GER side.
