The Braza have withdrawn from Group A in the March Friday Night Summer Darts League.
All teams due to play the Braza will be awarded a 12-0 walkover.
GER B have secured their place in the quarter-finals following their 9-3 win at Top Flight.
It will now be between Cassanos and GER B to see who gets the coveted top spot in the group, to be seeded in the last eight. Mick Wyles included six 140’s in 10 tons and won all four of his games for the group leaders; Brian Jones included a 177 and six 140’s in 10 tons and Roy Wojtowych recorded nine tons for the GER side.
GER Souls are still in the mix following Sportsman A not being able to field a side on Friday. It will be tight as to who will be the best two third-placed teams in the three groups. GER Hot Shotz versus Cassanos was postponed.
One Vision have also qualified for the last eight with three games to spare. They continue to top Group B and won 9-3 at the Sportsman B. All four of the One Vision players hit maximum 180’s. Dave Pinder top scored for his side with 10 ton plusses and Scott Phillips hit eight tons. Andy Elmore and Jamie Long were the other maximum men in the side. Bob Avenell recorded 10 ton plusses and Steve Jevon hit a maximum 180 for the Sporty.
Second place in the group will be between Sweeney Todd and GER Posh Canaries, who will play each other in the last week of group games. Sweeney Todd are second at the moment following their 9-3 win at the Crown. Steve Carrett top scored in the game recording 10 ton plusses and Richard Emery hit eight tons. Jon Porter top scored for the Outwell side with eight ton plusses.
GER Posh Canaries beat the GER Outsiders 8-4. Darryl Martin included a maximum 180 in 10 ton plusses and Robert Doncaster included a 101 finish in nine tons for the Posh Canaries. Kevin Cooper included a maximum 180 in 11 ton plusses for the Outsiders. The Posh Canaries also beat In The Buff 8-4 in a re-arranged game. Robert Doncaster hit 8 tons and Kevin Hill hit a maximum 180 for the GER side. Simon Neville included a 100 finish in 10 tons and John Thurston hit eight tons for the Buffs.
GER Slickers secured top spot in Group C with an emphatic 10-2 win over the Five Alls. Tim Fulcher included a 100 finish in 12 ton plusses; Mark Cross recorded nine tons and Nathan Cross has a 112 finish for the GER side. Gary Hastie hit seven tons for the Benwick side.
The battle for second place will go down to the last week between GER Men and GER M & M’s. GER Men beat the Ladybirds 8-4. Gary Wojtowych secured all three points winning the all-important 7th game with a 2-1 singles win over Terry Redhead. Gary top scored for his side with 9 ton plusses and John Marney hit a maximum 180. Terry Redhead recorded 12 ton plusses for the USC side.
GER M & M’s beat the Young Ones 8-4. Glenn Moore top scored for his side with 8 ton plusses and Stephen Carman hit a maximum 180. Michael Garner included a 103 finish in nine ton plusses for the USC side.
