Long Sutton 2nds 0, March Town 10

March got off to a flying start with Mills setting up Jody Betts to score within the first 30 seconds.

March can clinch the league title next weekend if they beat Peterborough 5’s, 1pm at Neale-Wade. Mills made it 2-0 with a tap-in.

March scored the third goal within a couple of minutes of the second half, Jim Fountain finishing off a good team move. Ben Wright scored with a drag flick, while Betts slotted home.

Andrew Wright was then shown a yellow card, and further goals came from Ben Wright after good work from Adam Graham, Betts (his 40th goal of the season), an own goal, Fountain and Andrew Wright. Sutton’s goalkeeper made a string of fine saves.

Cambridge City 3, March Ladies 5

March Town Ladies ended their season on a high and have now been promoted.

With March wanting to keep their unbeaten run and Cambs needing a win to get promotion. With a great cross from Rachel Mottram, Bekki White was able to tap the ball in the goal. Louise Minnis and Maria Shackcloth scored and on a short corner March let in a goal. Emily Plumb quickly shot the ball into the D where Bekki White got the fourth goal just before half-time.

In the second half Cambs managed to get another two goals but Minnis scored in the top left hand corner. Player of the match: Lauren Lakey.
