March win dozen medals

swimmers from March Marlins Swimming Club entered the Fenland Open Meet at Whittlesey, which was organised between March, Chatteris and Wisbech clubs, last weekend.

Marlins came away with 12 medals, 23 new PBs and six new times.

Girls: Bridie Baxter 50m Freestyle new time, 50m Breaststroke new PB, 50m Backstroke new PB; Amber Freshwater 50m Freestyle new PB; Molly McGowen 50m Freestyle new PB; Joely Cottam 50m Freestyle new PB; Siobhan Halliday 50m Backstroke new PB, 50m Freestyle new PB; Kahra Cottam 100m Butterfly new PB, 100m Backstroke new PB; Lara Palmer 100m Breaststroke new time, 100m Freestyle new time, 100m Backstroke new time; Katie McGowen 100m Breaststroke PB, 100m Freestyle PB 6th place, 100m Backstroke new PB 6th place; Lucy Halls 100m Breaststroke new PB and Lydia Gray 50m Butterfly 3rd place.

Boys: Liam Cole 50m Freestyle new PB; Jack Tremain 50m Freestyle new PB, 50m Butterfly 5th place, 50m Breaststroke new PB joint 6th place; Alfie McIntyre 50m Butterfly new time; Jake Hoy 50m Butterfly new PB, 50m Breaststroke joint 6th; Sam Vardon 100m Freestyle new PB 4th place; Graham Shaw 100m Backstroke new time 6th place, 100m Freestyle new PB, 100m Breaststroke new time; Jacob Halls 100m Freestyle new PB; Marc Johnson 100m Backstroke new PB 1st place and James Vardon 100m Freestyle new PB.

Other swimmers taking part were: Gemma McGowen and Andrew Fresher.
