Results in the final two races at Donington meant Martin Snarey of March managed to secure third position in Class B during his second year of motor racing in the Tillotson Formula Vee Championship.
The 53-year-old needed two good points finishes as he was only ten points from the driver in third place, but only one point ahead of the driver behind (Jamie Harrison).
Following a very wet qualifying session he set the fourth fastest Class B time for both races.
In race one he had a race long battle with Harrison, eventually beating him to the line and ended up fifth. The second race was very similar but after a great overtaking manoeuvre into Redgate corner Harrison beat Snarey, who finished sixth.
Snarey said: “It is an excellent result after all the hard work that has been put in. My year started well with a third at the very first race at Brands Hatch.
“Since then although I have not been on the podium I have consistently scored points.”
The series consisted of 14 races which were run on circuits throughout the country: Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Castle Combe, Donington, Anglesey, Cadwell Park and Snetterton.
